Task Force Tasks from Grange

Attendance: We will reach out to families of chronically absent students over summer and also send a letter to all students at the start of 16-17 about the importance of attendance (using the letters from Count Us In!). We will also continue our mentoring groups, check ins, and incentives for our chronically absent students.

Community Engagement: We have been working with Celebrations Church next door. We have tried to arrange a couple site visits but due to unforeseen circumstances had to reschedule. We look forward to a site visit from one of their youth pastors soon!.

We had Ernie from Solano County Office of Education come to walk our campus and interview one of our students who will be receiving an "Every Student Succeeds" award. We were thrilled to have him here.

Customer Service: It was a pleasure to see our customer service results. We shared the positive comments with our front office staff and discussed ways to improve our service.

PBIS: Teachers completed the School Assessment Survey during our staff meeting. Additionally, we are working on developing a PBIS handbook for teachers. Initially we were thinking flip chart of resources but then decided to try a blog to share this information!

Teach for Success: Data was shared at our March staff meeting with teachers. We decided to continue in our focus areas for next year. We also mad a draft action step in our SPSA.

RHS PBIS Progress

Our PBIS team met with JP on the April 14th during our 3rd session of PBIS training. We are happy to state that we have finished the school wide matrix (The RHS Way). We have also redesigned the RHS way and created signage for next year. Our next steps for PBIS is to create mini lessons that will be taught during tutorial to our students.

The staff and the team is excited about this process.

PBIS Next Steps for PSA

The original PBIS plan was for PSA to be in a cohort for the 2016-2017 school year.  However, we are in a "holding pattern," as the availability of resources and support are determined.  J.P. and I met April 6th to determine possible "next steps."  We have developed a plan for steps that can be taken with the staff to "lay the groundwork" in preparation for implementing PBIS, if and when the resources are available.  The PSA team will begin the foundational work prior to the end of the school year.

PBIS - MGCCA

Jacqueline met with J.P. and two PBIS team members to go over how to input information into SWIS for referrals and CICO.  From that meeting we decided the next steps were to revise our referral form to match the SWIS data entry system.  From there the high school teacher would input high school referrals after reviewed by the principal and the middle school teacher would input middle school referrals after reviewed by the principal.  Data will then be shared by the PBIS team lead at monthly staff meetings.

K.I. Jones PBIS Team Actively Working the List

The K.I. Jones PBIS Team has completed a revamp of signs, banners, and the ROAR ticket given for respect, open-mindedness, always safe, and responsible.  They have been ordered from the SCOE Printing group and FSUSD Maintenance and will be installed on the buildings in key places as soon as they arrive.  Thanks to J.P. for helping us get over this last obstacle!

The PBIS Team also decided to entice students with excellent cafeteria behavior by having a separate drawing in the cafeteria for a Special Lunch (needs a catchier name).  Students whose name is drawn will bring a friend and sit at the most awesome lunch table ever - on the stage in the cafeteria.  They will receive a special ticket to the Special Lunch and will be able to order a lunch, if desired, from Child Nutrition (pizza or whatever).   We're looking forward to starting this next week!

Working with JP on PBIS

Here is JP at our school site on 2/2/16 coming down to BGW to look at our progress with PBIS.

PBIS - Nelda Mundy

Great time speaking with JP...lots of information. In addition to our PBIS Team participating in the January Cohort, the school has in place a Structured Recess program that supports individual students and their needs in being successful in social and academic settings. With the onset of March we are including regular PBIS updates in both our parent and faculty newsletters as a method to ensure program understanding and long-term implementation.

RHS Starts the PBIS Process

RHS officially started the PBIS process when our team went to the first SCOE training on Jan 19th. After the first team meeting Admin Landeros and PBIS Team Leader, Courtney Rauw, met with JP Grelet to discuss next steps in the process. This meeting was helpful to RHS because JP address our questions like: How long does this roll out take? How can we teach PBIS to our students and teachers.
JP will be introducing the PBIS model to our staff at our 3/8 Staff Meeting. Our team is excited to continue through this process.

Falcons SOAR with PBIS @FHS

Falcons SOAR with PBIS at Fairfield High. This year Fairfield High has jumped into year one of PBIS with a lot of enthusiasm. We have a solid PBIS Team that includes teachers, administration, classified staff, a parent, a school counselor, and our school psychologist. We see the great need to develop everyone's understanding of Positive Behavior Intervention Supports and therefore we have the PBIS team as a staple presentation at each of our staff meetings. The team is working hard to build trust and understanding. The team utilizes comment boxes on campus as well as direct feedback from staff members in order to develop next steps that have the support of the staff as a whole.

EVERY classroom teacher has a SOAR poster that is unique to their setting but supports the tenets of SOAR: Safe, Organized, Always Respectful, and Responsible. Below are two examples of SOAR posters.

PBIS at Rolling Hills

Rolling Hills is headed in a positive direction with its efforts towards implementing PBIS on our campus.  We have currently had lots of success with our school-wide reward system.  In our recent discussion with J.P. Gretlet, we detailed how this system is currently being utilized and how we have even helped another campus get their system started.  The next step for Rolling Hills PBIS group will be to implement its "rollout" plan for Tier 1.  This plan was developed at the last PBIS training and will involve the entire staff in taking the PBIS system into the classroom.

PBIS at Cleo Gordon...A Leader In Me School!

JP came to the site on January 21 and discussed current systems in place at Cleo Gordon that support PBIS. We are a Leader in Me school embracing the 7 Habits of Leaders. This aligns perfectly with PBIS.

At Cleo, we have visible school wide expectations such as a Voice Rubric and rules for designated areas of campus posted. We celebrate students each month honoring Leaders, Readers, and students who demonstrate kindness. In the classroom, our school vision is proudly displayed and each student signs this commitment to themselves and one another.
We hope to be using SWIS in the 2016-17 school year. A possible task for the spring will be to create Public Service Announcement videos with students modeling the expected behaviors in our communal areas.

PBIS...Year 2!

Had a great meeting with J.P. We discussed our SET Assessment. We look forward to growing as a PBIS school!

PBIS Update at Nelda Mundy

Our Tier I PBIS Team is incredibly excited to present at our next staff meeting. After our cohort meeting yesterday, we are highly motivated to create a good example/bad example video with our staff. We think after they view this video from Rocklin Elementary, they will be just as excited to join us in making our own!

PBIS at Laurel Creek

We met with JP on Feb. 18 to discuss where we are in our first year of PBIS implementation & what our next steps should be. We currently have redesigned our referrals in accordance with the SWIS system and will begin collecting data to help direct our efforts associated with PBIS.  We have created “Shark Bites” rewards tickets to be given out when a staff member sees a student following the rules, and teachers have created lesson plans for common areas of the campus.
Our next steps will be:
-Decide on the actual rewards associated with the “Shark Bites”
- Create large signs with school rules for hallways
-Create a power point or video for staff to use when teaching the school rules
-Look at options and begin planning for school-wide PBIS kickoff next fall.

Suisun Valley, PBIS

I met with J.P. on 2/11 we looked into getting SWIS for Suisun Valley next year. We looked over a lot of systems we have on campus and the align with PBIS. The next steps for next year will be to create a PBIS team and fine tune Tier 2 intervention.
new meeting set with JP after a reschedule!  Looking forward to it!!!

PBIS @ FV

Met with JP today, 2/16/16 to discuss implementation of PBIS at Fairview.  So excited to get started next year with a PBIS team to standardize some routines and procedures and rules and reward positive behavior.  Overall, our behavior is excellent at FV, but it can always stand to be improved.  PBIS will help make FV even more amazing.  Look forward to sharing with staff and building an amazing team to attend training next year.  Thanks for your time JP.
