Did you know that at least one of out of every ten students in the United States misses 10% of the school year? That's the point when absences - excused or unexcused - start to add up to academic trouble. These attendance gaps lead to achievement gaps. Starting in kindergarten, chronic absence leads to 3rd graders unable to read well. By 6th grade, it's a warning sign that students will fail classes or even drop out of high school. So lets all work together to make sure all kids attend today so they can achieve tomorrow. We have also talked about attendance with our staff via newsletters. In the future we hope to focus on our attendance by working with PBIS to create positive rewards for our students who improve their attendance.
Every month FSUSD administrators meet to discuss our progress toward our district's goals in several areas. Each task force group is responsible for coming up with action items to move their goal area forward toward achieving the goals outlined in our LCAP or Local Control Area Plan. As we complete tasks, evidence will be posted here using the task force group and school labels so that you can easily follow along with our progress.
